 Heat Treatment :-

• Forging : 1900 - 1500 F
• Preheating : 1400 - 1500 F
• Annealing : 1500 - 1550 F
• Hardening : 1825 - 1900 F
• Tempering : 950 - 1150 F

 Forging :-

Preheat slowly to 750 C then rapidly increase the temperature to 1050-1100 C. Do not forge below 850 C.

 Applications :-

• Used in aluminium die-casting, aluminium extrusion, forging die applications
• Used for hot gripper dies, forging dies, forging die inserts, hot nut tools, brass froging and pressing dies, die holder blocks, plastic molds, extrusion mandrels, hot work punches etc.
